Synopsis by Caroline Griswold
Teenager Charley (Charlie Plummer) lives with his mostly absent father Ray (Travis Fimmel) and works at the local racetrack stables, where he befriends an aging horse named Lean on Pete. After learning that the horse is due for slaughter, he resorts to desperate measures to save the animal. Steve Buscemi and Chloë Sevigny co-star. Based on Willy Vlautin’s novel of the same name, this film adaptation was written and directed by Andrew Haigh.
