Synopsis by Perry Seibert
Didier Aufort's romantic comedy Le Pari de L'Amour (Betting on Love) is about a woman who suddenly strikes it rich. Caroline (Isabelle Beke) works in a beauty shop and is engaged to the dependable Jean-Philippe (Djedje Apali). After getting a 20-million-dollar windfall at a horse race, Caroline's personality changes to the point that she and Jean-Philippe separate. Caroline travels to Paris and begins spending time with her cousin (Virginie Racosta) and a pair of men, Armand (Virgile M'Fioulou) and Guy (Patrick Kodjo Topou). Caroline falls for Armand, but she faces competition for his heart from Kady (Aissatou Thiam). Betting on Love was screened at the Pan African Film Festival.
