Synopsis
A two-part biography of T.E. Lawrence (1888-1935), the dashing British officer who fought alongside Arabs in their quest for independence from the Ottoman Empire during World War I, and who was immortalized in David Lean's 1962 masterpiece, "Lawrence of Arabia." The real Lawrence (seen here in recreations and newsreel footage) was emotionally troubled (one of the interviewees is a psychologist) and he had good reason to be: The Arabs he fought beside were being deceived by his British superiors.
