Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Hoping to gain screen stardom, character actor Gino Corrado briefly billed himself as Eugene Corey in a series of rugged adventure films. In Law of the Great Northwest, Corey was cast as Morin, a former Montreal banker turned fur trader. Morin's independent operation has been targeted for destruction by rival trader Sinclair (William Dyer), who will stop at nothing -- even murder -- to wipe out his competition. Sinclair has also set his sights on Morin's sweet lady friend Marie (Margery Wilson), and to win her over he frames Morin on a murder charge. It takes the intervention of Mountie officer Jamison (Will Jeffries) to sort out the bad guys from the good. An inadequate leading man, Eugene Corey soon reverted to his original billing of Gino Corrado, and as such enjoyed a long career as a small-part player, generally specializing in head waiters and excitable foreigners.
