Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Georgette (Miriam Nesbitt) works as a maid for the Lewis family. The Lewis son, Val (Marc MacDermott), marries the girl but insists that she keep it a secret. A baby is born, and when Val's mother sends him away to take care of his drinking habit, he takes the child with him. Georgette winds up being tried for the murder of her baby. The judge recognizes her as his own illegitimate daughter. But the coward is loathe to acknowledge her and instead convicts her on circumstantial evidence. Georgette is sentenced to be executed, but still she keeps her marriage a secret, as Val asked. Val finally gets wind of the situation and rushes home just in time to save his wife's life. Based on the novel by Maxwell Grey, this old school melodrama was loaded with unconvincing plot twists and turns -- and still it was rather a dull picture.
