Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Joe Mauchin (Jack Gardiner) is a trapper in the Northwest wilds. He lands in a post by the name of Mead's Pocket and meets Jeanne Verette (Ruth King) in a saloon owned by her father (C.J. Lionel). They fall in love, and when a drunken miner insults Jeanne, Joe gets in a fight with him. He winds up killing the miner in self defense and he and Jeanne make a run for it. They are just steps ahead of Constable McKenzie (Carl Stockdale) of the Mounted Police but they elude him and, after getting married, settle down in a remote area of the timberland. A year goes by and McKenzie finally catches up with Joe. A bloody fight ensues in the Mauchin's cabin, but when McKenzie dashes outside after Joe, he is killed by a pack of wolves. This programmer with its cliched plot was standard fare for 1917.
