Synopsis by Gönül Dönmez-Colin
A period piece of passion and intrigue, not to mention the nationalist flavor, Kusatma Altinda Ask takes place during the Ottoman siege of Constantinople (1453). Romance develops between the daughter of the Byzantine commander and a warrior active in the defense of the city. Plot thickens when the warrior is accused of being an Ottoman spy. When the armies of Sultan Mehmet force the city gates, the young woman finds herself caught between filial duty and passion, of which she chooses the latter. As the curtain falls, Constantinople becomes Istanbul, the capital of the Ottoman Empire.
