Synopsis by Gönül Dönmez-Colin
Kulkuri ja joutsen is based on the real-life story of two entertainers, Tapio Rautavaara and Reino Helismaa, who started touring Finland in the late 1940's, eventually forming a trio with a third musician, Esa Pakarien. All three men became very popular and continued their separate careers throughout the 1950's. The film narrates the story of a friendship born on long concert tours, the creative differences of the artists, and the lives of popular entertainers before and after the arrival of television.
