Korean War: To the North & A Different War makes up the third volume of a ten-hour, five-tape documentary set about "America's Forgotten War," narrated by James Whitmore. More than 33,000 Americans died in the Korean conflict, which started in the aftermath of World War II and whose outcomes and events still affect the Asian political situation. The series includes film footage of the war that had never before been presented to the public. Other volumes in the set include: Korean War: The Division & North and South, Korean War: The Omens of War & Tempest, Korean War: Stalemate of Truce & War on the Homefront, and Korean War: Truce & Epilogue-Reflections.
