Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

A pregnant woman with no one to turn to discovers that the woman she detests most may be the only person capable of helping her navigate the rocky roads ahead in director Yin Lichuan's entry into the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. Daping despises Haili. It was Haili who wandered out of nowhere into Daping's life, destroying any chance of a serious relationship with Chen Jin. Haili bullies Daping mercilessly for her efforts in trying to be a kind and honest person, so when Chen Jin leaves Haili pregnant and alone, the mother-to-be thinks her life is over. But while Haili's abrasive attitude doesn't change following Chen Jin's departure, she does manage to break through to Daping in a way that neither of the two women could have ever foreseen.
