The film chronicles UGK's influence on hip-hop and their quest to remain relevant in a volatile industry. The candid expose' also examines Pimp C's personal struggle with prison and Bun B's crusade for his partner's freedom. Ultimately, UGK's quest to re-conquer the rap world was cut short by the untimely death of Pimp C. Kings of the Underground is a classic tale of two friends united in one struggle to make good on a childhood promise that they would always be "UGK For Life."
