Saijai (Pismai Wilaisak) is an idealistic schoolteacher who moves to the remote countryside to become the principal of a small school. She has problems with an unruly young teacher and with her brother, who becomes involved in the communist movement. Other problems arise from corrupt local officials, but she is helped by the good ones. From time to time, her true love Tanoog (Sombat Metanee) comes to visit.
