Synopsis by Jonathan Crow

Lahore-based filmmaker Moti B. Gidwani directs this elaborate musical-melodrama. While Shadilal (M. Ismail), the trusted employee of a bank, is assigned to escort gold jewelry to Bombay, his son Kanwal (S. D. Narang) falls in love with Madhuri (Ramola), the beautiful daughter of millionaire Durgadas (Durga Mota). Soon after he proposes to the young lass, Kanwal finds himself the rival of the evil Ramesh (Ajmal), Durgadas' clerk and distance relation to Madhuri. Later, the marriage is called off when they get news that Shadilal murdered an actress and ran off with the gold jewelry. This film proved to be very influential in terms of editing and film music for future Hindi musical spectaculars.
