Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, a kindly Upper 9th Ward resident offers her backyard as a makeshift camp for neighbors rendered homeless by the disaster. Documentary filmmakers David Redmon and Ashley Sabin tell the tale of a 56-year-old woman who for six months acted as mother, nurse, housing advocate, psychologist, and even domestic-abuse counselor to 14 desperate souls in need of shelter and compassion.
