Synopsis by Hal Erickson

This 4-reel Cecil M. Hepworth production was considered fairly strong stuff back in 1914. Alec Worcestor stars as Jack Raynor, a young ne'er-do-well who is cut off without a cent by his wealthy father. In desperation, Jack hires Joe Prescott (Harry Royston), a disgruntled ex-laborer, to burglarize the elder Raynor's home. In the ensuing struggle, Joe accidentally kills Jack's father. Cold-bloodedly, Jack turns Joe over to the police and sees to it that the poor man is condemned to death. He then kidnaps Joe's daughter Nan (Alma Taylor) in hopes that the girl will lead him to the money that Joe had stolen from the father. Nan is rescued by her sweetheart Paul Meredith (Stuart Rome), while the despicable Jack finally gets his just desserts.
