Synopsis
The 1980 murders of four U.S.Roman Catholic churchwomen in El Salvador by national guardsmen---and the complicity of higher-ups in the Salvadoran military---is explored in this documentary. Writer-producer Gail Pellett (who also narrates) focuses on a 2000 civil trial in the U.S. The defendants were two Salvadoran generals and the plaintiffs were relatives of the churchwomen. The charge, says a lawyer: The generals "created an atmosphere of approval" for the killings.
