This frothy comedy may have worked with, say, Norma Shearer and Robert Montgomery, both of whom were very adept at dropping the occasional double entendre without appearing self-conscious about it. But M-G-M instead retained Irene Purcell from the 1930 Broadway production, lisp and all, and teamed her with William Haines, a breezy silent screen comedian who was hardly the lady killer type. The results, while moderately amusing, fall somewhat flat and certainly never reach the intended level of sophistication. Oddly, M-G-M never secured the rights to Leonello Casucci and Irving Ceasar's popular song of the same title.
