The documentary Journalists Killed in the Line of Duty profiles six of the 46 reporters who were killed or murdered as a direct result of their work from January 2002 through April 2003. The subjects include Daniel Pearl, who was murdered by terrorists; David Bloom, who died while covering the Iraqi invasion; Taras Protsyuk, who was killed by shells from an American tank; Tim Lopes, who was murdered after doing a story on drugs and child prostitution in Rio; Raffaele Ciriello, who was blasted by an Israeli tank; and Edgar Damalerio, an investigative journalist killed by police for writing about governmental and police corruption.
