Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Borrowed from a play produced at the popular and prestigious Semafor Theater in downtown Prague, this musical revue looks back at the turbulent '60s. The Semafor Theater was home to many of the former Czechoslovakia's best and best-known talents, including directors Milos Forman and Jiri Menzel, composer Jiri Slitr and many others. Singer Jitka Molavcova and Jiri Suchy play Char and Jonas, two entertainers who perform the skits and songs that made the theater famous. Also included are clips from Forman's 1963 film Competition and Menzel's 1968 Crimes in the Nightclub, contributing to the atmosphere of the '60s in Prague.
