Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Follow the early career of famed movie cowboy born Marion Morrison in this biographical documentary comprised of original and rare footage. As a young boy, Morrison spent plenty of time palling around with the family dog Duke. Later, at age eighteen, he broke into the film industry as a stagehand at Fox Studios. After making his screen debut in a 1928 silent film, the rising star took the lead for the box office flop Big Trail. From there on out, Marion Morrison was ancient history, and John Wayne would go on to become one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood history. Take a look back at a true screen legend as filmmakers pay tribute to the cowboy who came to personify everything moviegoers loved about the old west.
