Synopsis by Mark Deming
John Renbourn and Jacqui McShee are two pivotal figures in the history of British folk music -- guitarist Renbourn was one of the founding members of the ground-breaking group Pentangle, and with that group fused jazz, blues, and world music accents with traditional British folk, while vocalist McShee was also a member of Pentangle before going on to a successful solo career. John Renbourn and Jacqui McShee: In Concert documents an acoustic reunion concert which brings these two former bandmates together again. Selections include "My Johnny Was a Shoemaker," "Great Dreams From Heaven," "South Wind," "Can't Keep From Crying," "The Plains of Waterloo," "The Bonny Greenwood Side," and many more.
