Synopsis by Mark Deming

In this independent drama, Brad (Marc Pouhe) is an African-American doctor whose father (Frank Curcio) has recently suffered a heart attack. When Brad stops by the hospital where his dad is recovering, he donates blood and makes a startling discovery -- the difference in their blood types proves Brad's father is not his biological parent. After his folks admit that he was adopted, Brad sets out to find his real parents, and eventually meets Jesse (Ken Dresen), a white gay man with full-blown AIDS who fathered Brad during a drunken one-night fling with a black woman who was a close friend. After learning that his biological mother is dead and his father is soon to follow, Brad confronts his parents with some tough questions about his history and upbringing. Jesse's Closet was screened at the 2004 San Francisco Black Film Festival.
