Synopsis by Tracie Cooper

Directed by Tara Veneruso, Janis Joplin Slept Here chronicles the origination and progress of the music scene in Austin, Texas. Responsible for the critically acclaimed South By Southwest music and media festival, Austin provided a voice for a variety of garage bands, folk, rock, punk, blues, and swing communities. The documentary features footage of the festival, clips from several performances, and interviews from people who participated or simply enjoyed this rare instance of musical fusion.
