Synopsis by Augustine Chay
This documentary explores the intimate relationship between a 46-year-old mother and her 26-year-old daughter (with a 10-year-old daughter of her own) who are both struggling with drug addiction. Filmed inside and outside Maine Correctional Center over the course of three years, it foregrounds the precarity of hope and the possibility of redemption despite the heavy weight of intergenerational trauma. Directed by Jessica Earnshaw.
