Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
A "big blonde" living in a small community centered on a military barracks is unhappy over memories of the war -- the time is the early 1950s, -- she drinks more than she should, and sometimes she engages in prostitution for her own reasons. When a young ice-hockey professional comes to spend the summer working in the woods, he -- like other men -- becomes attracted to the woman and she responds to this one honest and innocent man by agreeing to marry him. Between his stubbornness (as Finnish a trait as any) and her desire to change her view of herself and life, the two might possibly manage to make a go of it.
