Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
This program features the popular, award-winning heavy metal band Iron Maiden. The enduring British group has been making music for over 25 years. The group received an enthusiastic welcome from crowds in Hungary, Poland, and Yugoslavia. All the excitement of the band's tour behind the Iron Curtain is captured on tape. The young people of those countries appear in sympathy with the spirit of rebellion embodied in Iron Maiden. The band performs works including "Run to the Hills," "Aces High," and "2 Minutes to Midnight," set against a backdrop of World War II footage of the Battle of Britain, and vignettes from the Russian film Alexander Nevsky.
