Synopsis by Steve Blackburn

In this 1971 performance captured on film by Radio Bremen, Iron Butterfly plays their anthem "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida," as well as "Easy Rider" and "Butterfly Blue." One of the giants of the heavy metal, psychedelic rock era, Iron Butterfly released the album In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida in July 1968. The title track ran the entire length of one side -- 17:05 minutes. The LP outsold every record in the history of recorded music to date within the first year of its release (over eight million copies sold), ultimately earning the recording industry's very first Platinum Album. Band members appearing in this video are Doug Ingle, Lee Dorman, Larry "Rhino" Reinhardt, Mike Pinera, and Eric Brann. Note: "In-a-gadda-da-vida" was a corruption of the originally written lyric "in the Garden of Eden."
