Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

This film is one of a series on well known women in modern times. This segment chronicles the life story of actress Tyne Daly. With many credits in stage, film, and television productions, Tyne Daly set an Emmy Award record in 1996, by winning her fifth Emmy. Born into an acting family, the young child was destined for an acting career. Her brother, Tim Daly, also an actor, narrates this look at his sister and her rise to prominence with her role as Lacey in the 1980's hit television series, Cagney & Lacey. They discuss her marriage to George Stanford Brown, and how the interracial marriage affected their lives, at a time when such unions were still illegal in some states. Ms. Daly talks about her rebirth in the second half of her life and about her latest incarnation on the popular television series, Judging Amy.
