Synopsis by Sarah Welsh

This stunningly photographed documentary takes us to the sacred ruins of the kingdom of Khmer -- the golden age of ancient Cambodian civilization. The Khmer kings ruled from the ninth to the 13th century A.D.; Angkor was their glorious capital and Angkor Wat the most breathtaking and sophisticated of their many temples. Today, visitors flock to these grounds to study the remains of statues, bas-reliefs that depict daily life in ancient times, and soaring architectural feats. Religious devotees and descendents of Khmer subjects also come, to find solace and inspiration among the stones. Take this virtual tour across the globe and back in time as director Pierre Oscar Levy explores the history and the wonder of Angkor Wat.
