Young people with serious or chronic medical conditions describe their experiences. One boy has Crohn's disease and another asthma, while a girl has juvenile diabetes. Also profiled are two groups of kids---one with sickle-cell disease, the other with cancer---which support each other. They all have one thing in common: the desire to be "normal." As a girl with sickle-cell disease puts it: "I want people to treat me the same way they treat everybody else."
