Part of the In Search Of series, this documentary explores the historic search for the ancient capital of the Incas. Narrated by series host Leonard Nimoy, In Search of Inca Treasure looks at the history of the city of Vilcabamba, the lost Incan capital. There is footage from an excavation of Machu Picchu, the site of ancient Incan ruins rumored to be the lost capital. Though Machu Picchu has been proven not to be Vilcabamba, there are still people, both scholars and non-scholars, who still believe that the lost city of the Incas is Machu Picchu. This video examines the history of the Incas and the city of Vilcabamba, including all the treasures and artifacts of the Incan culture that were said to be lost with the city.
