Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
Fred, a young Belgian woodcutter living in the Ardennes forest, has long loved his neighbor Isabel, but she knows nothing of this because he has been to shy to declare himself. When his childhood friend Peter comes to stay with him for some comfort following a painful divorce, Isabel loses her self-control in her passion for Peter. When Peter rejects her, she drives off, distraught. Unable to control the car and her feelings at the same time, she has an accident, and dies. Fred is nearly mad with grief, but Peter pulls him through.
