Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

This depressing look at the lives of alcoholics in Melbourne, living on the streets and in the parks, would be more effective if director Brian McKenzie had focused on the personal history of the five principal men he features. As it is, the conversations between men with slurred speech and faculties dimmed by alcohol are bound to hold a limited appeal -- even though the pathos of their situation is sadly all too clear. Better sound and a shorter running time would also help strengthen the effect of the documentary.
