Synopsis by Robert Firsching
Potential viewers of Tre Implacabili should not expect the bloody abandon shown by director Joaquin Romero Marchent in his best-known film, the gory Condenados a Vivir. This is a standard spaghetti western -- one of three filmed by Marchent in 1963 -- about a trio of friends who protect frightened ranchers from rampaging Mexican outlaws. Marchent imbues the standard storyline with the expectedly grimy visuals, goofy supporting characters, and a very Spanish treatment of the romance between Geoffrey Horne (The Bridge on the River Kwai) and local beauty Cristina Gaioni. The familiar cast (including Robert Hundar, Aldo Sambrell, Raf Baldassarre, and Fernando Sancho) will please Eurowestern buffs, though there is nothing particularly distinguishable about this one.
