When Bob's agent conceives a cover band that also includes charismatic beauty Kitt, the two musicians quickly become lovers. Meanwhile, Bob's demanding parents make no attempt to mask their disappointment in their son's risky career path - which grows rocky when Bob's agent begins to focus on Kitt's solo-career. Dejected, Bob spirals into a drug-fueled cycle of self-destruction that shocks the sympathetic Kitt, who wages a valiant fight to pull him back from the brink.
