Olive Oyl is extremely superstitious, a fact that Bluto intends to use to his full advantage to get rid of Popeye so he'll have Olive all to himself. Convincing Miss Oyl that today is Friday the Thirteenth, Bluto arranges all manner of "accidents", making Popeye look like a fool as he tries to convince Olive that superstitions are the bunk. But the Sailor Man manages to turn the tables and exacts a plot-appropriate revenge on the scheming Bluto.
