Synopsis by Robert Firsching

The first of Greek producer Klearchos Konitsiotis's latenight travelogue-cum-"mondo" films set in the after-dark nightclub scene of Athens, I Athina ti Nihta features dancing, singing, cabaret acts, and comedy sketches performed by some of the most talented performers of the era. Grigoris Bithikotsis, Jenny Vanou, and Yiannis Voyatzis are among the talents, while many well-known actors appear as well, among them being Pantelis Zervos, Kostas Voutsas, Kostas Hadjichristos, Nikos Fermas, and Martha Vourtsi. It's an entertaining glimpse of a bygone era, narrated by Stavros Xenidis. Many of the same performers returned for Konitsiotis's 1968 followup, I Athina Meta ta Messanihta.
