Produced by the Native American Public Broadcasting Consortium, this 20-minute documentary features reenactments and footage concerning the coming-of-age rituals of the Dakota Sioux. This program features the rituals as they unfold for a boy, Hep, and his sisters Jody and Wiona. The name-giving ceremony involves the children being presented with traditional Dakota Sioux names by their grandparents, a rite of passage into adulthood that's celebrated with gifts and feasting.
