Synopsis by Mark Deming

This adult-oriented drama was a surprise box office success when it was released in the U.S. in the late 1960s; it was one of the first sexually-themed films from Sweden to find an audience (and a wide release) in America. Siv (Essy Persson) is a young woman who works as a nurse. After breaking up with her unexciting fiancée and parting ways with her strict parents, Siv discovers her inexhaustible sexual appetite, and she begins pursuing encounters with her patients, colleagues, and the men she meets in her spare time. However, Siv discovers that many of her one night stands are actually looking for a deeper and more lasting relationship, while she prefers to simply live for the moment. A sequel followed three years later, which was also directed by Mac Ahlberg, though it did not feature star Essy Persson.
