A husband is plagued by rumors that he is impotent. His wife leaves him, but his loneliness soon disappears when a multitude of females seeks to prove the rumors are false. He is seduced by a friend's wife and daughter, as legends of his sexual prowess continue to circulate. Women flock to the man and he becomes the talk of several towns and bedrooms. His estranged wife accidentally reads a letter written by one of his many satisfied partners. She soon is making plans to reunite with her husband in romantic Rome to rekindle the flame of long-forgotten love.
