A year after her first daughter drowned, a mother still struggling with grief becomes pregnant with another child who could be evil incarnate. After Jamie Ashford (Victoria Pratt) lost her daughter, she took precautions to ensure that she wouldn't get pregnant again anytime soon. A few short months later, however, Jamie learns that she is once again with child. Not only is Jamie's labor and delivery particularly difficult the second time around, but despite her aura of innocence the newborn Caitlin displays a dark streak that chills her mother to the very bone. When a sudden series of tragedies befall her home, Jamie begins to suspect that Caitlin could be possessed by a malevolent spirit. But is Caitlin truly evil, or has Jamie's overwhelming guilt finally caused her fragile psyche to crack beyond repair?
