Review by Derek Armstrong

Hot Dog: The Movie is probably singularly responsible for leading a generation of young boys to equate skiing ability with the certainty of getting laid. Of course, anyone dimwitted enough to believe that riding alone in a gondola with a beautiful woman will encourage her to take her clothes off probably shouldn't be allowed on skis in the first place. Alternating between skiing footage, dopey comedy, and hot tub T&A, Hot Dog became the must-see movie for teens looking to fantasize both about athletic derring-do and buxom babes. The presence of Shannon Tweed, the ageless queen of erotic thrillers, in one of her few "legitimate" movies, gives the best indication of this movie's limited intentions. Although undoubtedly moronic, it's mostly harmless, and some of the ski jump trickery is fun to watch. Hot Dog achieved enough familiarity in the viewing public that it is probably still the best-known movie devoted to the slopes. Hot Dog is not to be confused with 1986's Hamburger... The Motion Picture, although the raison d'ĂȘtre -- showing skin -- is about the same for both.
