Synopsis by Hal Erickson
This Canadian public affairs series was seen on a rotating basis in the same Sunday-night slot as two other CBC efforts, Let's Face It and Question Mark. The successor to the "potpourri" series Closeup, Horizon tackled a wide range of issues, covering Canada's social, political, legal, dramatic, cultural, scientific, and ecological scenes. Each episode had a different host, ranging from American newscaster Frank McGee to Canada's ubiquitous Alex Trebek. Except for a brief period when it was pre-empted by the Canadian Hockey League semifinals, Horizon ran unabated from October 13, 1963 to August 30, 1964.
