Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The cable TV reality series Hometown Premiere strove to disprove Thomas Wolfe's "you can't go home again" mantra. On each episode, celebrities returned to their home towns, purportedly to share their success and good fortune with friends, neighbors, and family, and to tour the obligatory "old haunts." The opening episode found Kelly Clarkson of American Idol fame paying a visit to her birthplace, Burleson, TX, where a gala celebration, capped by the premiere of Clarkson's theatrical feature From Justin to Kelly, was already in the works. Hometown Premiere debuted June 11, 2003, on the E! Entertainment network.
