Synopsis by Augustine Chay
This documentary captures the Oakland High School class of 2020’s valiant efforts to reform their ailing and highly policed public school system. Coming of age in the era of COVID-19, the George Floyd protests, and a city struggling with rising crime rates and inequitable access to healthcare, they mobilize and agitate, hoping for a brighter future. Directed by Peter Nicks. Featuring student activist Denilson Garibo and Mayor Libby Schaaf.
