Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
The chronic and fatal illness of a doctor's wife has caused him to seek comfort elsewhere, with a young nurse. The wife knows this and also knows her own prognosis. Depressed and ready to die, she sends her daughter off to spend the day with her English teacher. She has made plans which will enable her to take enough pills to kill herself while everyone is away. Curiously, everyone concerned in her life begins to suspect something is amiss at about the same time, and they all converge on the dying woman's home.
