Synopsis by Sean Hurley
In Hitler: The Whole Story, Vol. 1 -- The Early Years, the first tape in the three-volume set, the ascension of the young Adolf Hitler from failed painter to German Nationalist demagogue is chronicled using rare archival footage and photographs. Historians help piece together the conditions of post-WWI Germany that would provide the fertile ground for the anti-Semitic rantings of Hitler. Blaming the collapse of the beloved Weimar Republic on Jews and racial impurities struck a note with a German populace still smarting from their defeat in WWI, allowing Hitler to gain a following and setting the stage for the rise of Nazism.
