Synopsis by Sarah Ing

Many consider Greece to be the birthplace of western society. Now, viewers can decide for themselves with the three-part documentary History of Greek Civilization. Language, government, and literature all have roots in the Mediterranean country. Sophocles and Plato were just two of the myriad of poets and philosophers that contributed to the Greek model. Greece is also now credited with developing the first democracy and the first alphabet. The history of Greek civilization is detailed and expansive and presents a wide vision of the creation of modern mankind.
