Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
The history of warfare is brought to life in this series from the History Channel. Experts from the Royal Armories in London share their knowledge on the construction and use of the weapons that were used in battle from ancient times in Rome, Greece, and Northern Europe, through the development of modern warfare. The bow and arrow has been in the arsenal of hunters and warriors around the world, from Native Peoples in the Americas to Shinto priests in Japan. Some fine examples from the museum collection are presented. Reenactments and demonstrations are used to show the beauty and accuracy of the bow.
