Synopsis by Mark Deming
In this gritty tale of the underbelly of the music business, novice rapper J-Dub is looking for someone who will release his song "Paper Chasin," which he's sure has the makings of a hit record. T-Hun, the owner of a record store, is given a demo of the tune, and begins selling it as a download on the Internet. The song quickly finds a large audience, but once J-Dub finds out that T-Hun has been selling his music without his permission, T-Hun has ran off without cutting J-Dub in for a taste of the profits. Determined to get paid, J-Dub scours the streets looking for T-Hun. Rudy Ray Moore serves as narrator, and Too $hort and Ice-T appear in interview segments, discussing the business side of the rap music game.
